What should I wear?
The wedding and reception are Black Tie Optional but this doesn’t mean you have to wear black! Tuxes or suits and ties are welcome as well as formal dresses and jumpsuits. Shoulders do not need to be covered in the church. All events will be indoors.
Will it be a full Catholic Mass?
No, it will not involve all aspects of a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony. All guests are invited and should attend the church ceremony.
Is there parking?
Yes, but we recommend walking or ubering.
CHURCH: St. Ignatius does not have its own parking lot however, you may park in the lot below the University of San Francisco School of Law right across from the church on Fulton Street. Additional paid parking is available in the fee garage at St. Mary’s Hospital and on the street.
RECEPTION: There is a parking garage around the corner: St. Mary’s Square Garage, 433 Kearny(Between Pine and California streets) – 415.956.8106, OPEN 24 HOURS
How far is the church from the reception?
~20 minutes by car! Please plan on Ubering or driving from the church to the reception.
What should I do during the Catholic Shuffle?
A "Catholic Shuffle" refers to the 1 hour and 45 minutes between the end of a Catholic church ceremony and the start of the reception. The wedding party will be taking photos during this time. You can explore the University of San Francisco campus, relax at a nearby bar, take a stroll through Golden Gate Park, wander around the North Beach, Union Square, or Chinatown neighborhoods, or simply head back to your hotel to refresh.
